The
Filtering pack is a system whose task is to remove droplets dragged from flows
of steam, is the product most common for this type of operation.
The
Filtering Pack properly used and under certain conditions may reduce the liquid
carried by a factor of up to one hundred times more than a standard unit, ore
reducing losses by 50% or more, or increase the capacity of the factors up to
three or four times the norm.
The
Filtering Pack is built exclusively in metalor plastic mesh, is available in any shape and size.
The
Filtering Pack can reduce the residence time required for separate drops of
liquid of various sizes thus reducing the volume and cost associated equipment
separation.
The
Filtering Pack are used in areas where the quality of steam is important in the
field of liquid involved in particular when the costs of separation are high
(for example, high-pressure systems), or where the saving of space or weight
are convenient.
How does a Filtering Pack works
The
droplets are removed from the flow of steam through three stages: collision and
adherence to a target, coalescence into larger droplets and drainage.
When
the steam carrying the droplets of liquid or mist passes through the Filtering
Pack, the liquid can easily pass, but the droplets of liquid, having more
inertia, meet the spongy mass and are hold back from this strongly. When
several droplets gather together, increasing volume and weight then fall
freely.
in
this way the core product, steam pure, doesn't contain liquid.
Where you can use a Filtering Pack
In the towers of refining vacuum
The
Filtering Pack can make working with more flow, improving the quality of diesel
fuel and reducing the percentage of raw. The diesel improved, having a lower
percentage of carbon, asphalt, metal catalysts pollutants, increase the
capacity of craking due to low weight entering the generator, providing a
greater yield gasoline and increasing the period of operational capacity of
catalysts.
In the towers of lubricating oil
refining
Increased
capacity, yield and purity of the product that translates into practice with
savings of solvent and lands bleaching for refining.
Distillation plants
Increase
in benefits in facilities for treatment of:
- Vegetable oil
- Grease acids
- Thallium
- Glycerine
- Lubricating Oils
- Naphtha
- Propane obtained by asphalt
- Products organic intermediate
- Chemicals handled in small quantities
Evaporators
The
Filtering Pack eliminates the export of a considerable part of the product
while maintaining a high quality condensate destined for the kettles of water
or earmarked for other uses.
Dehumidifiers Filters
The
Filtering Pack provides water vapour dried and cleaned with a balance of
particles less than 0.5 parts per million.
Assorber
The
Filtering Pack performs the complete removal of liquid particles dragged by gas
oil and glycol solutions and amine, and provides gas clean and dry. It improves
the efficiency of the plant.
Filters precipitators, de-tarring,
containers of separation
The
Filtering Pack reduces operating costs because:
- Removes water from air and oil and gas
- Retrieves fatty acids from water vapour
- Retrieves gas oil previously lost in the
vacuum system
- Reduces maintenance costs for compressors
- Decrease the size of containers destined
for filtration
- Elimination of problems related air
pollution
- Elimination
of unloaders condensation in radio transmitters and distribution of gas

Alloys and special steels:
you can produce the filter pack with other qualities of wire such as:
In
Filtering Pack the materials used are of higher quality. The wire is calibrated
and polished to allow drainage of the fluid more quickly. The stainless steel
is fully annealed to resist thermal variations. Both the sponge metal grilles
that support are constructed with care in order to eliminate possible leakage
of steam.
Choosing of Filtering
Pack
The design
of Filtering Pack and the choice between different types is facilitated if they
are provided the following data (when possible):
- Speed of steam
- Density
of steam
-
Density of liquid
-
Viscosity of the liquid
-
Surface tension
- Size
and quantity of liquid particles in suspension or the description of the
process or system
-
Temperature and pressure
-
Materials used
-
Performance demands
What data tell us to achieve a Filtering Pack
In
implementing the Filtering Pack is always better to specify the following
information:
- Use or
application
- Type
of material
- The
form
- You
need a Filtering Pack with or without grid
- The size
- The
density
- The
type of assembly over-head or under-head
- If the
new Filtering Pack is a replacement of an existing Filtering Pack
