Gaudenzi Engineering

Gaudenzi Srl is specialized in the production of customized perforated sheets. According to the typology of product and perforation, for every order, we evaluate the most adapt system of production among punching machines, laser cutting or micro-laser cutting machines.

Another leading department of Gaudenzi is the lifting one. An entire area, with various cutting-edge machinery, is entirely dedicated to the production of tie rods.

Furthermore, Gaudenzi can offer carpentry work and heat treatments, to complete the product requested by the customer.

Punching

The punching machine creates an initial deformation of the material to be punched in the sheet. This is followed by an effort of cutting, that allows the fracture and cutting of the material. The result is the perforated sheet.

The process for producing embossed sheets is slightly different. In this case, the punch does not cut the sheet metal, but stops earlier, creating the embossing.

Thanks to 12 lines of state-of-the-art punching machines, Gaudenzi can punch sheets with dimensions up to 2000x8000mm, thicknesses up to 10mm and perforations starting from 0.4mm hole diameter.

Currently, there are over 11000 moulds available. Shouldn’t a particular mould for a special type of embossing or perforation be present, it would be created internally to satisfy the customer’s request.

Laser-cutting

Laser perforation involves a stationary laser beam that uses its high-power density to melt and vaporize material from the sheet.

This process guarantees a high precision perforation even on significant thicknesses. On top of that, there are other advantages: there are no difficulties, for instance, in perforating “soft” or fragile metals, as the laser perforation does not depend on the mechanical properties of the material but rather on the thermal nature of the sheet. The result will always be a perforated sheet without burrs or processing marks.

Gaudenzi is equipped with 2 laser lines, which can cut sheets up to 35mm thick, and up to 2000x6000mm wide. Furthermore, these laser machineries can realize bevels and inclined cuts.

Microlaser

This is the crown jewel of Gaudenzi’s work. After several years of R&D and substantial investments, the company has internally developed and assembled a laser machine that are able to make holes of few microns on big thicknesses. To be precise, Gaudenzi micro lasers can make 60µm holes with a tolerance of 10µm.

The demand for micro-perforated sheets comes from different sectors, from the plastic and food to the semi-nuclear and chemical.

Gaudenzi also puts its R&D department at the disposal of the customers to design and create the requested products. The R&D support will give the opportunity to jointly study solutions for the creation of prototypes. The objective will be to optimize both the performances and the lifespan of the product.

Lifting

This is a historical department of Gaudenzi Srl, specialized in the production and selling of stainless steel and galvanized ropes and accessories. In addition, the company realizes customized tie rods made on request.

To complete the offer, Gaudenzi supplies articles in AISI 316 and galvanized iron, such as turnbuckles, clamps, carabiners and so on.

Gaudenzi has been producing and selling ropes, tie rods and accessories of the highest quality for over a hundred years. The applications are numerous: among the prominent sectors there are the industry and nautical ones.

There are also various uses in architecture: e.g., for tensile structures, for anti-seismic works or for the safety of buildings, or for furnishings.

Ropes and tie rods are also used for robotics, lighting, mechanics, automotive, etc.

Hardening treatments

Gaudenzi can carry out hardening treatments both for stainless steel and carbon steel products on customer request. The advantages of these treatments are numerous. First, there is an increase in surface hardness and a reduction in the friction coefficient. On top of this, the treatments make the surface self-lubricating and consequently there will be no addiction of material. Hardening is possible on all surfaces and even on small holes. The treatment does not involve any dimensional or structural modification or deformation of the sheet metal. Furthermore, the treated material maintains its recyclability characteristics. The benefit for the customer is to get a product that wears-out less and, therefore, has a longer life cycle.

Carpentry

The internal carpentry offers an additional processing to the main production. Gaudenzi can complete the product internally with folds, rolling and welding of various types. To be precise, Gaudenzi has a bending press, that can work on sheets up to 3000mm wide, three rolling machines that can process sheets up to 2000mm wide and a bar welding machine that can weld sheets of up to 1100mm wide. The company decision to internalize these processes allows to discuss and plan directly with the customer the implementation of indispensable and essential product details. Nowadays Gaudenzi can deliver a finished product to the customer, thus avoiding to rely on subcontracting, guaranteeing faster delivery times and maximum product quality.
